The MacDil1 Air Force Base (AFB) Air Installation Compatible Use Zone (AIC Z) study has been updated and will be released in a public meeting at 6pm to 7pm on October 23, 2008, at Ballast Point Elementary School, 2802 W. Ballast Point Blvd, Tampa, FL 33611. The AICUZ study addresses aircraft noise and accident potential zones created by current flying operations at MacDili AFB. The study contains information on building height restrictions and provides data for use in achieving land uses that are compatible with the current flying mission.

AICUZ data is intended for use by local citizens and government officials involved in land use planning and facility development. The purpose of the AICUZ program is to help ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens in the surrounding communities while preserving the operational capabilities of MacDili AFB.

The presentation will outline the overall AIC Z program, its methodology, potential uses of the study and Air Force and community responsibilities for compatible land use. A question and answer period will follow the formal presentation.

As the nearby city of Tampa continues to grow and prosper, we believe it is important that we join with government and business leaders in a cooperative effort to implement mutually beneficial planning for the future.
